50 years of
Army Aviation at Fritzlar On 21st of July 2007 the Combat
Helicopter Regiment 36 officially committed the 50th anniversary of
Army Aviation at Fritzlar. One year later, on Sunday 17th August 2008
the regiment opened its doors to the local public to celebrate the 50
years of Army Aviation and the 70th anniversary of the airfield at
Fritzlar. One of the highlights of this Open Day was the presentation
of the Bo 105 PAH 87+38 to the public. The helicopter already received
the special painting in the year 2007 for the official anniversary. It
shows the silhouettes of all helicopter models that flew at Fritzlar
from the H-21 and Alouette II to the UH-1D and Bo 105. By Jens Schymura und Holger Stüben -
